A little about me… . I am a practical theologian and the pastor of Community Presbyterian Church in Lake City, Colorado. We are the oldest Protestant church on the Western Slope (almost 150 years old) and we’re situated in the most remote county in the lower 48 states.
Although I am an ordained Minister of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church (USA), I was born and baptized into the Methodist Church and spiritually formed during my teenage years by the Assemblies of God. I felt called into ministry when I was fourteen and I have been on that path ever since.
Over the past three decades of ministry and theological education, I’ve had the privilege of serving the church in a variety of roles and in diverse ecclesial and cultural contexts in the US and abroad. I’ve also been blessed with the opportunity to speak and write for various denominations and Christian organization. Presently, I continue to research, write, and speak about intergenerational formation and Christian education, the theology of play, the doctrine of sabbath and the Taizé Community.
Personally, I’ve been married for twenty-five years and I have two sons (one in college and one who just became a teenager). I am an avid board gamer who designs games on the side, and I’ve been delightfully immersed in this hobby for over two decades (which justifies our 500+ board game collection). 🙂
